Advanced settings (DKIM selector)

If your mail server uses a non-standard DKIM selector (e.g. "mail3"), enter it here. You can find it in your DNS settings under a TXT record like
NAME._domainkey.your-domain
. Pinsero will try it first.

What does the Mail DNS audit check?

A complete check of 4 DNS records that decide whether your emails land in the inbox or spam.

  • MX records + priority
Who receives mail for your domain, in what order. Backup mail servers, anti-spam routing.
  • SPF — sender authorization
Who is allowed to send email from your domain. Detects too-many-lookups, wrong ~all/-all, syntax errors.
  • DKIM — digital signature
Checks DKIM selectors (default, google, etc.) + key strength. Without DKIM, Gmail/Outlook often reject mail.
  • DMARC — anti-spoofing policy
What providers should do with suspicious mail. p=none/quarantine/reject + percentage + reporting addresses.
  • Specific fix recommendations
For each finding you see the exact DNS record to add — copy-paste solutions, no hand-waving.
  • Plain-English explanations
Every DNS term has a clear explanation — no need to dig around Stack Overflow.

FAQ about the Mail DNS audit

Why do my emails land in spam?
Most common reasons: missing SPF, wrong DKIM selector, or no DMARC. The Mail audit shows exactly which record is missing and how to fix it.
What are SPF, DKIM and DMARC?
SPF says "who is allowed to send from my domain", DKIM digitally signs every email, DMARC tells providers "what to do with non-matching mail". Without all three, modern email providers (Gmail, Outlook) will not deliver.
Does it work for Gmail / Microsoft 365 too?
Yes. Pinsero checks DNS records, so it works for any mail provider — Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Mailgun, Sendgrid, your own mail server.
What if I do not run my own mail server?
Even if you use Google Workspace or Microsoft 365, you have to manage DNS records yourself (at your DNS provider). The audit helps verify they are set correctly.
How often should I run the DNS audit?
Recommended: quarterly + before every major campaign. DNS changes sometimes happen unexpectedly (provider update, migration, etc.).
Which blacklists do you check?

In Mail DNS audit we check 30 most important blacklists (DNSBL/DBL) grouped into 3 tiers by trust level. If your domain or mail server appears on any of them, you get a direct delisting link.
